Scope
This statement applies to the website www.buergerportal.de. A separate statement applies to the Bürgerportal account at app.buergerportal.de. Individual organisations’ portals are independent services covered by the respective organisation’s statement.
What this website offers
The website provides information about Bürgerportal: what you can do with it, how the Bürgerportal account works and what organisations can expect if they want to use it. You can contact us through the website. For registration and sign-in, you are redirected to the Bürgerportal account. This website does not accept applications or documents.
Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at conformance level AA. We do not currently claim full conformance or achievement of level AAA.
How we test
This statement is based on an internal review of the website as it stood on 11 September 2026. This includes automated checks of page structure and barriers detectable by testing tools, as well as browser testing of selected interactions. A comprehensive manual review of all pages with screen readers and other assistive technologies is still outstanding. Automated tests alone do not establish full accessibility.
Accessibility features already in place
The pages include a “Skip to content” link that takes you directly to the main content. Headings and page regions use structured markup.
Contact forms use labelled fields and text error messages. If required information is missing, form validation takes you to the first affected field.
You can browse the app gallery using buttons or the keyboard. It does not advance automatically. Images have alternative text, short descriptions and links to enlarge them.
Known limitations
