Adjust the display, enlarge text or have content read aloud. These accessibility features help you use Bürgerportal in a way that suits you. If you need assistance, our team is here to help.
Set up the app to suit you.
Open the settings in the app and go to “Darstellung und Barrierefreiheit” (Display and accessibility). You can choose a light or dark appearance. With “Automatisch” (Automatic), the app follows your device’s setting.
“Bewegung reduzieren” (Reduce motion) reduces animations. Enable “Meldungen offen lassen” (Keep notifications open) if you need more time to read. Notifications then remain visible until you close them yourself.
On an iPhone, “Textgröße” (Text size) takes you to the iOS settings, where you can adjust the font size. Names and settings paths may vary depending on your device.
Enlarge text and navigate with your keyboard.
In your browser, you can enlarge the page using the zoom option in the menu. On a computer, you can also use Ctrl and the plus key, or ⌘ and the plus key on a Mac. Use the minus key to zoom out again.
Press Tab to move to the next link, button or form field. Shift and Tab take you back. Open links with Enter. Buttons can also be activated with the space bar.
On this website, the first press of Tab takes you to the “Skip to content” link, which lets you bypass the navigation. Close enlarged app images with Escape. Use the arrow keys to move between images.
Have content read aloud
A screen reader reads content aloud and helps you navigate headings, links and form fields. On an iPhone, this feature is called VoiceOver. On Android devices, it is TalkBack. You can find it in your device’s accessibility settings.
If you encounter a barrier, describe the affected screen and the step where you get stuck. Tell us your device and which screen reader you use. This helps us investigate the problem.
